DAY 3 - IN THE LIFE OF A RESCUE DOG

DAY 3 - In the DAVE diary !

Whewww whewww it's morning on the third day of my stay, with these funny, happy and ok - slightly weird people - there are two small ones - well i say small - but both are quite large 

 - i think they are pups - and one VERY large one, who sort of takes over - 

and has taken it upon herself to boss everyone about - 

and also within the walls here is a big fat black scary thing, 

who they all call " PeggatyPawz" 

- and two small rather flighty - hoitey toitey things that are called the ' the cats' - 

I know that because i keep hearing " Dave - Leave the 'the Cats' alone " and " ohhh Dave the 'the Cats' are doing nothing wrong " and also " Dave - The ' the cats'  are eating - your not a ' the cat ' " - 

So - with a matter of deduction - which i am very good at - 

I believe these small things are the ' the CATS ' 

The people here call the brown one with attitude " Derek" 

and the grey fluffy one who is my friend i think " Rodney " 

- 'Rodney' seems a little dim to me ... 

while 'Derek' is a tough cat who is almost a scary as the huge big fluffy black thing !

( i really think i should have been one of those Policemen on the television who are like me with lots of hair )  - i have always thought i would be good at upholding the law and now - being with this big person - the 'fun' one - i think i'm right because she keeps saying - " Dave - Don't take things into your own paws " - and then she laughs -  I think - she thinks - she has just made a funny - 

I wag my tail and smile a big big smile - this keeps her happy - Bless her  - 

She says this after i take it upon myself to tell the small furry things off - usually for eating or walking or in fact for being near the 'fun' woman - I have taken it upon myself to be the 'fun' woman's guardian - i think she definitely needs watching -  

She seems to think lots of things are OK - 

Like the small furry ' the cats ' sitting on the sofa's , and the grey cat 'Rodney' helping himself to my food and food on the side and the big fluffy scary thing, being so gwumpy with everyone, 

THAT IS NOT OK BEHAVIOR

- i know different - I WILL STOP THIS BEHAVIOR !

I have a feeling that these smaller furry things cannot be trusted as well - 

I do sometimes get it into my head that the smaller pups are misbehaving  

I have to take it upon myself to tell them off - 

But - earlier today - I showed my teeth, my beautiful white shiny teeth. 

I showed them, because the smaller of the two pups looked as though she was going to kick the 'fun' lady on the leg and THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ... 

So i ran to the 'fun' lady and showed my teeth at the young pup and then it happened 

- i made a very deep deep rumbling noise - frankly - even i don't know where the noise came from - 

i don't think i have ever made it before - and it even scared me a little -  

But - it scared everyone - and the 'fun' lady jumped up - and pushed the pup onto the sofa - 

'Fun' lady - well - 'not so fun' lady,  grabbed at my collar and pulled me away, 

WHAT THE HELL - she shocked me a bit 

she was very cross with me - VERY VERY CROSS .. 

she pushed my back end down and got me to sit -

WELL =  I did NOT want her do this and showed my teeth again - she was scaring me 

VERY VERY LOUDLY she SHOUTED

" NO ...................DAVE.....................NO ... " 

she put a hand on my head immediately - 

Mmmmmmmmmmmm - This was funny 

- I didnt know what this hand was doing - I was very worried and shook quite alot 

- it reminded me of a time when I WAS A PUP - and i hated that time 

- and i shook - i think i scared the 'fun' lady now - i did tremble quite alot  

- BUT i felt soothed, by her hand, i had a feeling she would not hurt me - 

and I calmed down - I was not happy - but i was calm 

I liked her hand on my head, i licked her other hand - 

she slowly stroked my cheek with her finger 

and she made shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'ing noises - I lay down ..... 

The 'fun' lady sat next to me on the floor 

- with just a hand on me - keeping me calm 

It did help me too - i liked her sitting with me - I did not want to be Pushed out 

That is what had happened before - I remember now - 

i had shown my teeth before - 

BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS HELPING, 

and i had been locked in another room.

That was NOT fair - 

I WAS ONLY HELPING 

- I heard her telling the young pup that she THOUGHT I was protecting her  

because -i thought the pup 

 was kicking the 'fun' woman - 

and well - this seemed fairly spot on to me - 

I DID THINK THE SMALL PUP WAS HURTING THE NICE 'FUN' LADY

I did not THINK the pup was hurting the 'fun' woman - 

I KNEW IT 

- and - now i KNOW after hearing her chatting to the pup -  

I hate her shouting  - 

her voice goes all loud and sounds very stern 

- so - I must try to not use my mouth 

and the shiny white things in there very often 

and especially not when the smaller pups are about 

I also think that I KNOW

that the young pups are not meaning harm to anyone -

They are just noisy and move - ALOT !! 

so I must be very very careful ! 

BUT

 When the fun woman and i play - 

I use the mouthy white things alot - 

 'fun' woman is ok with it then - 

She laughs and jokes with me then - 

even though i leave lots of red marks on her arm !

She says to the pups that 

she KNOWS i am playing then

SHE THINKS SHE KNOWS ALOT THIS 'FUN' WOMAN !

I'm trying to tell her about mixed messages - 

but she does not really understand about it  = 

I will train her better soon and then

 she will get what i am on about ! 

But - for the time being I am enjoying this side of life - 

and i love to have lots of attention, 

 ear squiggles and hugs and play fights - 

THATS MY FAVOURITE !! 

- It reminds me of my time as a smaller Fluffy with my own friends 

that were called 'brothers and sisters' - 

i don't see these fluffy bundles any more - i wonder why ?? - they were fun  ! 

Ohhhhh i do miss mum and dad - i wonder if they are ok - 

i wonder if dad has been o the beach today 

Chased the seagull things as i am not there to do it 

- I wonder if they have remembered to feed the small furry

 that is there with them called Smudge ? 

I wonder if Smudge is still there with them ?

- with mum and dad ?

- well - im here - so i wonder where Smudge is ??

- I wonder if he is ok ??

 - OBVIOUSLY not that i care

- just because i am interested !!  

I have all these 'Wonders' - to think about and nobody to ask about them 

- I used to ask Boris Next door any questions that i had 

- Boris was a Big Fluffy like me 

- But - well - he didn't have much Fluff, 

Actually he did not have any straggly fluffly bits AT ALL

 -  and he has a short stumpy tail and a very very funny nose

 - mine is a long beautiful smelling nose - and Boris's nose is short and fluppy

 - i don't know how else to describe it - it sort of snuffled alot !

  - He was a funny unfluffy thing like me - ohh and i know he was like me

 - because he Woofed like i can - although - Boris always used to woof ALOT - so i didn't bother !!  He woofed for both of us !! 

I wonder what Boris is doing now ??

- I liked Boris - he was my friend ....... 

He isnt like PeggatyPawz - The big scary fluffy thing

 that lives in this house now - Boris was fun - he used to play and we used to run and bounce at each other - he used to put his paws flat on the floor and his bottom in the air and his whole back end used to wiggle - Boris was Funny .

This Old dog here is NOT funny - In no way shape or form is she funny - she is scary - 

BUT having the smaller pups here makes up for it - 

They take me for walks and the boy runs with me - and BOY IS HE FAST - 

I have to sprint to keep up with him - but he is always telling me i am so good for not stopping 

- and so good for keeping in step - i love going with him - He is fun - 

and the girl pup - she loves me sooo much - she walks slower - 

and she shows me things - like the flowers - and she gets me to sniff them

but this is when i can have a sniff at other things too

 and a look around at this place - its nice here 

- there are lots of smells and a fair bit to do - 

also there are lots of dogs around - 

some woof at me - but some come up and say hello - 

i always wag my tail high so they know i want to say hello !

 - Its nice - i like them ! 

Well - nothing very much happened today.

The 'fun' lady and I stayed in while the smaller pups went out 

- they had gotten ready very very very fast and Mum - opps - not mum - 'fun lady, said they had to be quick as school started five minutes ago - They both rushed out the door - and jumped into a car - 

i know this because i was watching from the window ! 

- Anyways they left and then 'fun' lady made a coffee thing and we sat down and we talked about a lady coming to take me for a walk, as the 'fun' lady - it turns out, is unable to walk me all that often, because she has a problem with her head - 

Well - I had NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL SHE WAS GOING ON ABOUT - 

She was saying things like Funny Head, and Dizzy,Giddy,Tumor, Brain, lots of different things,

Well - I know my Brain is in my head - and it is fluffy - 

and the 'fun' lady said her head sometimes goes 'fluffy' and well - 

that really made no sense to me what-so-ever - 

How can her head go 'Fluffy' ??!

Where is Boris when i need to ask him a question ??

But - i looked interested and she was happy that i took notice - 

I am VERY VERY GOOD AT TAKING NOTICE ! - 

and then the 'fun' lady  spoke with a person who was on the thing she sits in front of  alot 

- she calls it a computer = i have no idea what it is - 

but there are pictures and moving pictures 

and she makes lots of noise with her fingers on keys when she is on it - 

and she laughs when she is on it - She laughs ALOT - 

Usually laughing at me when i sneek on the sofa !!

She pretends not to see me - But i have a feeling she does !

I f i give her kisses - i get away with ANYTHING !!

and i loves it when she laughs - i wag my tail and bounce about 

I bring her toys that she throws for me - 

and she is laughing and playing and laughing again 

ohh id love to know what she is watching - 

There are dogs barking sometimes and sometimes people saying things like 

'what a silly cat' and 'that dog is being a sheep' - 

well - I'm thinking mum watches some very strange things - 

Ohh no - NOT MUM - 'fun lady' ...

and she crys - oh dearie me does she cry - 

sobbing and she is so upset - 

and my head seems to always end up soaking wet 

- then two minutes later she is laughing again 

- and patting me and ohh every emotion you can think of

 - this 'fun' lady is very emotional !! 

I'm a little upset when she is upset and i come and rest my chin on the 'fun' ladies knee

 - this makes her happy - Im pleased that the older dog is not in sight - 

she seems to be not very good at hearing - but - how she can miss the noise i dont know ! 

- we also played in the garden - with my bone - that ' PeggatyPawz ' has LENT me - and then when we came back in - well - i am very persistent and i keep wanting my bone thrown for me - 

omg how i love that bone ! 

'Fun' Lady says i am very cute and i am not to use 'emotional blackmail' with my eyes 

when i look at her I do have a lovely face - even i think so !

- 'Fun' lady says i am very cute and far too adorable 

- and she cant resist - So - 

I USE MY EYES ALL THE TIME !!

I say LENT because the big fluffy gwumpy thing keeps telling me they are HER toys

 and NOT mine

- I do give her a kiss to say thank you

 - but she puts her lip up at me - 

I take it she does not like my kisses - 

and that's ok with me because her breath smells - 

I am actually getting a little bit fed up of her Gwumpy ways - 

but - well - i get that she is old - and i try not to let it bother me !

Well - this evening the 'fun lady ' was so very pleased as all us furries were sat down together - 

We bigger fluffies were both on the floor - and the two 'the cats' were on the big comfy sofa -

 I thought was a little unfair - but - well - i let it be, ... for now - anyway

 - Mum got out - Ohh no - not mum - mum is at home with dad - 

Ohh i hope they are OK - I wonder what they are doing ??

Wheres Boris so i can ask him ??

- 

Ohh i want to stay here for a little while longer - these people are fun - 

Anyway ' Fun lady ' Got out something that kept shining a light and going click

 - and the 'fun' lady was so very pleased with herself saying 

' Ohh thats a lovely shot - ' 

well - i don't know who had been shot, but i wouldn't call it lovely - 

well - not for them ! .. 

I hope they were ok - Mmmm - after being shot i very much doubt it .. 

After the 'fun lady ' had taken this 'thing' of me and PeggatyPawz and the 'the cats' 

Well, we got up and moved !! Three of us went to the other side of the room, 

and then they all ( They - being the 'fun lady' and the two pups ) went mad again because we sat down together and apparently looked 'gorgeous' - 

although - the smallest pup said it was a shame that 'rodney' wasnt there with us -

 as then it would have been the whole family together - 

But Rodney ( whom i presume is the grey fluffy 'the cat'.. ) 

stayed on the sofa next too the larger of the two pups...

I quite liked being part of a whole family !!! 

  

Anyways - after a short sit down and the a quick wee in the garden - boy was it cold - we all went upstairs - ohhh gwumpy PeggatyPawz didnt - she stayed downstairs - But- just before i went up - and i think, she did not know, i knew - BUT - she gave me a little nudge and kiss - so

 - i am thinking that the gwumpy - is maybe, not so gwumy, after all !! - 

Tomorrow - I might try and put this too the test !! 

I snuck on the bed again halfway through the night - 

but - Mum - Opps - NOT MUM 'FUN LADY' - WOKE UP

 and she went out for a wee  - when she came back she noticed that the grey fluffy 'the cat' was on the bed too - The 'Fun Lady' started to sing

Three in the bed - and the little one said -

SHE LAUGHED !

OHHH I LOVE TO HEAR HER LAUGH !

She got into bed VERY VERY CAREFULLY as to not disturn US TWO !!

Mum said goodnight and gave first 'Rodney' a kiss on the head - and then ME !!

I GOT A KISS ON THE HEAD AND A GOOD NIGHT !

DAY 2 - IN THE LIFE OF A RESCUE DOG

Day TWO in the DAVE Diary 

Ohhhh This is all a bit scary now - I had arrived at this house after being taken from mum and dad's small flat ( where i had lived since a pup - i was now i think I am 8 - or so they say ) and i had a drive in one thing that went faster than i could run - and then i met two people - one was big and smiley and one looked like my ball at home - ie he had no hair  - then i got to have a walk and a look around - then i got put into another thing that went very fast - faster than i could run - and went for ages and ages and ages - and i got a bit bored and sat down and was very quiet - and then i came to a house where everyone was very very very pleased to see me - i did all this in about three breaths i think 

- IT ALL HAPPENED SO FAST

- It was all  very strange as i had no idea who they were - these new people - and there was the BIGGEST furriest growliest thing i had ever seen before - i wanted to be friends - 

but this black monster just growled .. and id done nuffink wrong ! 

Anyway - EVERYONE - and i mean EVERYONE came and said a helllo too me - I was very polite and actually enjoyed it - and made a fuss of everyone - but i was so very tired - well - i had had a VERY busy day !! BUT EVERYONE wanted me to talk to them - and to look at them - 

and awwww " Too much ladies and Gents - leave a dog alone !! " - so - They went !! - 

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW PEACE - lovely !! 

This Fun lady i met earlier gave me and Hairy Hearthrug a lovely dinner and it had something that was called pork in it - as it was apparently a special day - WELL IF THIS WAS PORK AND IF THIS WAS A SPECIAL DAY - I WANT ONE SPECIAL DAY - EVERY DAY - 

I BLOODY LOVE THIS PORK STUFF !! 

Anyway - The boy and the girl kept making a fuss of me and we played and had fun and ran aound and kissed and played and played and kissed  - and then Ohhhhhhhhhhh I needed to go OUTSIDE - if you know what i mean ;) - I went to the nice fun lady and nudged her hand - I made a funny noise that i make with my mum at home and she always knows - well - it worked - the nice Fun lady knew - She also said to the two smaller non furry things that it was 'bed' time - well - i knew bedtime - as i LOVE bedtime - i get to sleep on the bed with Mum and Dad - OHHH MUM AND DAD - I WOULDNT BE THERE TO KEEP THEM SAFE AND WARM - I hope the other lady told Mum and Dad where i was... ..

Anyway - I went out in the garden with the big grumpy old furry and ohhhhhhhhhh so much better when i came in - i gave this fun lady a kiss to say thank you - I am very thoughtful like that and like to say my pleases and thank you's ! Ohhhhhh Then a man came and the two smaller things went off with him ?? 

- That was odd - They called him DAD - but - well - He WAS NOT MY DAD ??? That was odd - they gave me big kisses and said see you tomorrow Dave - Love you - Guard Mum... and BE GOOD ! 

BUT I AM ALWAYS GOOD !! - PERRRRLEASE !! 

Ohhh Mum - OMG MUM - SHE WOULD BE SO WORRIED , AND THEY WOULD BE LOOKING FOR ME - AND UPSET AND ...

" DAVE COME ! ... COME ON - COME ON - YOUR SUCH A GOOOOOOOD BOY ! " 

I stood away from the door

Fun lady lived up to her name - SHE WAS SO MUCH FUN !! 

Anyways - the fun lady locked the front door - and said good night to the big fluffy thing, and gave her a kiss on her Big Furry head - she also put her arms round big furry things neck and hugged her - well - i thought that was a bit much - anyway  - she stayed downstairs - ie the big black fluffy - and I was very pleased about this as she is scary - Fun Lady and I went upstairs and Fun Lady got into bed - well - THIS IS A STRANGE BED - it's on the floor - WHEWWW -WHEWW - SO EASY TO GET ON - 

LOVELY - I jumped on - 

" DAVE OFF" 

ohhh - I looked at Fun lady - well - YOUR NOT FUN AT ALL ARE YOU LOVE ?! - SOMEONE GAVE YOU THE WRONG NAME THERE DIDNT THEY = 

" DAVE OFF "

I got off - I can't believe I AM ON THE FLOOR - But I settled down next to her - on the FLOOR..... 

The Hard Cold - ok ok - There was a snuggly bed for me - but - I remember it as being Hard and Cold and maybe even a little damp ...... FLOOR ... 

I am NOT a dog that sleeps on the floor -

 DOES THIS WOMAN NOT REALISE THIS ??

She fell asleep. Fun Woman - I mean ... Wow - she was tired 

So

 Very Very quietly I Snuck on the bed 

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

 I have now realised - if i am soooooooooo very quiet, and Literally army crawl up the bed and lie right next to her, feeling her heartbeat - giving kisses - and then move to the end of the bed - 

I DON'T GET THROWN OFF !! 

YAY! - ALL BLOODY NIGHT LONG - I WAS SO COMFY - 

Well - apparently - we woke up so late this morning that Fun Lady couldn't ring my brother and sister ( Thats what the smaller non hairy things are called ) because they were at THEIR dads house - 

Ohh DAD - Now i had forgotton - DAD - OMG - He is going to be so worried about me - i hope that nice lady told him i was going to come here - and sleep on Fun Ladies bed and play with this big old furry hearth rug with attitude problems and a funny walk

 - but - i'll see them tonight - my brother and sister - i'm sure i will - and i mean really really sure - and i know that because they told me yesterday that they would see me today ... that makes me really excited - They are fun and give me lots of kisses  - and the boy always calls me his mate - i'm his mate DaveDawg ! - 

I will give Mum and Dad - lots and lots of kisses when i see them  - because now i come to think of it - i sure do miss them - I'm wondering why i'm here and not there - sitting in my space in the flat with mum and dad making loud noises and those two tiny furry things running around and jumping over me - Mmm - I wonder if Dad has gone for his walk along the beach yet - LOVE THE BEACH - and chasing those silly flappy flying things - that squark and dive bomb - they are FUN to chase !! 

Well - I had breakfast and The HUGE Black fluffy bear thing - apparently - my new sister ? 

We exchanged nose nudges - 

oh oh oh oh i almost forgot - i walked past Derek - 

'Derek' is just ONE of the small furry thing's, and he does not like me very much - AS IN - AT ALL - and that's an understatement - HE HATES ME - I don't know why -  his brother 'Rodney'  likes me ..

Anyway - Derek was on ( what i learnt ) was his 'spot' on the stairs - well - Fun lady told me to 

" WAIT DAVE " - at the top of the stairs - and i BLOODY DID AS I WAS TOLD THAT TIME, BECAUSE THAT FURRY THING HAS ISSUES - REAL REAL MENTAL AND SOCIAL ISSUES - HE IS SCARY - AND I MEAN - REALLY REALLY SCARY ... HE IS A HARD AS NAILS FURRY THING, 

AND HE TAKES ANYTHING ON - SO I STAYED THERE - WAITING - I WAS SO GOOD - 

Mum then walked past ( too slowly for my liking ) Giving the furry Nutter a pat on his head - and then she turned round bent down - and OMG BE CAREFUL LADY THAT THING IS MAaaaD  - she lent down to the crazy thing and actually kissed him on his tummy - well - crazy furry thing just sat there - and i think i heard him sort of make a funny noise  - Fun lady Gave him a long stroke and called him a scaredy cat and then was muttering something about a coffee - i don't know what this coffee thing is - but mum wanted and needed one - VERY VERY BADLY - I since learned that mum has this Coffee thing, well - literally in her hand - every minute of the day - and if she does not have it - 

ohhhhh RUN BULLSEYE, RUN LIKE THE WIND ! 

( I've heard people say that before - and it got a laugh - so i wanted to use it too ! ) - 

Anyways - she let the big black furry moany thing and I out in the garden and well - i ran round like a loon - i really needed to stretch me legs after being on the bed all night ! 

Well - After a run i came and sat next to the older furry thing - and we sat there - and sat there and sat there, sat and waited, waited and sat - WELL - THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE i thought 

- I wanted to go INSIDE .. so - i showed the older hearth rug my party trick - what i did not realise was that fun lady was watching !! - as i jumped at the back door and put my hulking paw on the lever and opened the door - Fun Lady SHOUTED ' DAVVVVVVVVE - WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING ? NO " 

- well - i wernt bovvered - naa - bovvered i was not - she don't scare me - 

and, I'm sure by opening the door - PeggatyPawz aka - Big Hearth Rug -  was a little impressed and has started to lighten up - she even let me borrow her toy this morning !! 

Then - Mum oh no - not mum - fun lady - Mum is at hime with dad - Welll Fun lady had a........... well - i'm not sure what it was - but... she got in the cage type thing with glass doors thing - 

she said it was a shower ?? 

and she came out SOOOOOOOOOAKING WET - as if she had been rolling in a dewy field - she was so wet - and i know this because she actually dripped water on my nose when i put my cold nose on her leg - she did make a funny noise and told me to GO BACK - but - i had no idea what she meant so stayed there smiling at her - she scratched my head and i love that ! Anyways i would not let her out of my sight and sat watching - i think i am going to be watching dog - i like to watch !! Watching i do well !! 

Well - then came the best bit - mum .... No no no no NOT mum - Fun Lady - Mum was at home with dad - Ohhh i miss them - i wonder what they are doing - Anyways she took me and Peggatypawz in the garden and wow - we were out there for ages - throwing things and chasing and laughing and darting around - had such a fab time i came in and fell asleep ! = I know - a grown dog asleep before lunchtime - Shhhhhhh don't tell anyone - Well - mum is now on a little box thing that is making her make sounds like the little furry things make when they see me - she sounds like she is at the vets ( very high pitched whaling noises and her leg n toes are tapping - ) but she is happy - so i am happy - sitting next to her - head on her leg - watching - Just watching - watching and waiting !! 

That's my day so far - I think i like my new house - there is lots going on and i get lots of attention and cuddles - but time out when i have had enough - It's a NO DOG ON SOFA RULE - in this place - but - well - i seem to get away with it !!! 

Now i am going to plan how i can get treats when i want them - so - i think it has something to do with my 'cute' face - but so far i don't know what that is ! I also think if i do as they say i get a treat - 

but - so far - it's too much fun doing what i want !!!

DAY 1 in the life of a rescue dog

DAY ONE - I DID NOT KNOW I WAS LEAVING HOME


Shaka is a lovely boy of 8 years who needs a new home as his owners are emigrating soon, and unable to take him with them. 

Shaka is neutered, microchipped and has been vaccinated regularly over the years, but booster is now overdue. 
Shaka is great with children of all ages.
He also lives with 2 CATS, and has always been good with any CATS. 
Shaka is a sociable boy with other dogs, and meets and greets them very well and very respectfully.
He gets a little excited over visitors, but soon calms and lies down .
He is ok being left, travels well in the car, and is housetrained. He likes to sleep on the sofa or on your bed!
Shaka walks nicely on the lead, and his recall is good. He does have slight arthritis in his hips, which is common at his age. He is on no medication, but would benefit some supplements in his diet.

Well folks Shaka is as good as it gets! Perfect nature with everything and everybody! He will make somebody an amazing companion.

Well - today everyone at home seemed so 'on edge' - there was a knock at the door and a nice woman came in and was talking to my mum and dad, They said they were off to Australia - WHATEVER Australia is - and i could not go with them - I did not understand any of this - Kept nudging mums hand - and taking a toy to Dad - but they ignored me - i didn't understand - The nice lady made a huge fuss of me though - she was realy really nice - and they all kept saying i would be ok - well - i knew that - i wasn't some silly pup - I would always be ok - i had my family .... Didn't I ??

I had been with the family for as long as i could remember - i can remember being laughed at when i fell over because my legs didn't work to well and they were too big for my body - ohhh i was a pup then - that's what they called me - the pup - THEN they started taking me outside - and omg - the places i went it was all so big - and i was tiny - but my paws - I had the biggest of paws - still do !
Anyway - I heard mum tell the nice lady that i had been with them since i was 8 weeks old- and although i did not know it - i was a baby - i had been with them since a baby.





NOW they are going to Australia - and Cant take them with me - Well - That's what i heard - i was not sure what any of it meant - but - as long as i was with them id be happy, i'm the type of dog who is very fond of people if they show me love and i know i was loved because i was in beautiful condition ( i loved hearing this !! ) and i was such a friendly boy - ( so the nice lady kept saying ) she especially loved it when i kissed her on the face - and every time she called me - i would turn and race to her - tail high and wagging !!

Ohhh Mum's crying and dad went inside - DAD - ??? - DAD ???

Mum gave me a kiss on the head ... Ohhhh I'm SOAKING WET NOW - I've got a wet head - MUUUUUUUUUM how could you do that - dad is going to have to dry me with a towel now - He is not going to be happy -

Ohhh I wonder if i am going to have a walk on the beach this afternoon - it is a lovely day - the rain has stopped and the sun is out - that's always a sure sign that i am going to have a lovely beach walk - Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Seagulls ( Thats that they call them - among other things ) They are such fun to chase !! I love going for beach walks with dad  he is fun .................



DADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD COME OUT HERE - We need you - Mum's loosing her shit again - and we need you to sort her out - Mmmmmmmm - I started to make that noise i can make when people are unhappy and usually it makes them smile - it's a kind of high pitched squeal thats almost song like - well - this is odd - mum looks at me and rushes inside - Ohhhh she must be going to dad ................. THE DOOR SHUTS ???

ERMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Ohh ohh ohh - this nice lady is still here and she give me a huge hug - putting her hands and arms round my neck - and actually giving me one of the biggest hugs of my entire life - a huge hug - bit odd i thought - well - we had not been introduced properly and she was a little bit familiar with me - i might not be that sort of dog - BUT OK OK - I AM - COME HERE LADY AND HUG ME !! -

Well after our lovely hug - she asked me so nicely to get in her car - So - In i jumped, apparently the nice lady thought i would not make it - but perrrrleaseeeee - i am still but a pup - i was gazelle like - ( I have heard that before- no idea what it means - but - yes i liked being Gazelle like ! )  - Tail wagging - Wel the nice lady get this 'thing' out of her pocket and starts speaking into it -

Hello - yes - its  - and she has not known me for long - so she says - But she says i am things like Beautiful - handsome and lovely- well - obviously i know what these are - because they are such lovely words - i have to be all of them - they have such a singing tone to them - i must be !!
The nice lady went on to say she was going to drive now - and i was in the back - and so very well behaved - she would be about three hours until she would be home - because she had to take a 'dog' to meet it's new owners .... But then she would be home - Ohh i wonder if i was going with her - i must be as i am in the car - i had a lovely chew that the nice lady had given me and that was going to keep me entertained for the entire journey - I did have a quick think about the conversation the lady had - " Take a dog to see it's new owners " - Mmmmm I didn't understand this - but - it sounded Interesting ,,


Well - I had been on car journey's before - but that one - well - that one took the biscuit - it was LONG !! Although the Nice lady made it lovely by chatting to me in her quiet peaceful voice - and i was just so relaxed - the nice lady was so nice !! - We pulled into a car park - The nice lady called out of the window.. and in the car right next to us - two people got out .....

Well - I kept my ears open well and truly - i heard everything - i was NOT at all sure what they wee saying - but it all sounded very exciting and happy and fun ... The man - who i saw first was tall - very very tall - but - because he was so smiley and happy i was not scared - ohh he had no hair - i noticed that straight away - he looked a little like my ball at home - Ohh my ball - my ball - i should have brought him - he would have loved to come and see this man who looks like him !! Behind him - the Ball man - was a lady - Mmmm - She looked FUN ! - She had bright bright sun coloured hair and she was big and bouncy like my fluffy bear at home - Ohh i should have bought him too - he would have loved to have seen this lady who looked like him - she was very very smiley ..

I heard the Nice lady say to the Fun Lady that She was from German Shepherd Rescue - and it was her first hand over - and that she actually nearly didn't make it - as i was so lovely - that she wanted to take me home to her house to meet her dogs ..... Ohhh well - that was silly - i couldn't do that - well - what would mum and dad think i was - they would worry .... Actually - they probably had my dinner ready and waiting - my tummy was beginning to rumble and i know i was feeling a little 'odd' =
The Nice lady turned to the Ball man and said for him to take me for a walk while she and the FUN woman did the handover - OMG A WALK A WALK A WALK - THE BEACH - I WANNA GO TO THE BEACH - GULLS - I WANNA CHASE THE GULLS = PERRRRRLEASEEEEEEEE  - But -
the man took my lead - and we started to walk to big row of buildings - wow - this is BORRRRING i thought - but - the man was nice - and he kept telling me i was such a good boy - and kept patting my head - he was a very excitable man - i liked him - he was nice - he and i would be pals i decided - he kept saying - ohhh you are a good boy - you dont pull - your so clever - well - I KNEW THIS ANYWAYS - so i just licked his hand !!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ball Man - Ball Man - I need a weeeeeeeeeeeeee - I had to stop it was no good - so - i dug my paws in and cocked my leg - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SO MUCH BETTER - I kissed his hand again as a thank you for letting me stop - he didn't pull me to hurry up or anything - ohh yes - he and thee would without doubt be friends - I liked walking with him - he almost skipped as he ran - that was fun !!



Well - we got back to the nice lady and the fun lady who grabbed me again and ONCE AGAIN i was hugged - wow - where do these women think i have been - i am not really that sort of dog - but - ok ok - i let her hug me - as she seemed to need a hug - and i got a kiss on my head - and now SHE was telling me how lovely i was and that i would get on so well with her 'old girl' - i had no idea what she was on about - but i smiled and my tongue lollopped as she spoke - so i think she thought i knew what she was talking about !! She seemed very happy anyways !! Well - now comes the OTHER o dd bit - NOW the ball man - and the Fun lady opened the boot of the car - and asked me to jump in ???? - WHAT THE HELL ???? ERMMMM - I LOOKED AT THE NICE LADY  ?? - what do i do Nice lady - what about mum n dad - i cant go with everyone ?? ermm - I was really very very worried now - But - I am always so eager to please - that OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK !! - I Jumped in = omg - well -the response i got from a simple leap was bewildering - both Ball and Fun told me how good i was and that i was clever ( For jumping ?????? what the ???? ) and then the Nice Lady came - she then Hugged me - and told me that she wanted to take me home with her - ( For the last time - MUM AND DAD WOULD BE WAITING - I CAN'T GO HOME WITH YOU LADY !! - ) Ohh then i had to pose for a photo - i thought i was a model at one point - but the Fun lady gave me hugs and kisses - and we were both happy - so it was ok - Then she gave me a chew - Ohhhhhhhh This one i finished even before they had shut the boot - DELICIOUS !!

( Shaka has toddled off to his fab new home and will be enjoying his retirement with a gorgeous older girl for company.

Fun Lady got in and so did Ball man - They both looked at me and smiled - Then Ball man said - in his funny accent - ohhhh he is a good en lass - he is gorgeous boy - Your a good boy arn't you .....

I looked at him and smiled - then lay down - Mmmmm - this was all very odd - I stayed laying down most of the drive to where ever we were going - i thought they were taking me back to mum and dad - but i didn't  recognise anywhere - They kept chatting to me - and the fun lady kept playing with the hair on my head saying i was so soft and fluffy ......
I really wanted her to stop saying i was so fluffy as it would ruin my street cred - but - it made her happy so i carried on with the smiles !! Well - if i thought the drive earlier was long - this one took the whole tin of biscuits !!! - i was sooo tired - i kept having to stand up though to see out of the windows ....

Then came the odd bit they kept saying things like Brian, Dougal, Max, They mentioned my name - Shacka - they said that a few times - and i always gave them a wag - but then - when they said it - there voices went down - and well - it seemed odd - Ohhh then they said things like Gary and Trigger and Boycie I had no idea what they were talking about - It was getting a little scary now - Then the Fun Lady said her favourite was Dave = But she could not use that because there neighbour was a Dave -
Well - the Ball man said - Just write him a note lass - say you have a new dog - and his name is Dave - and you cant change it .... Easy as that - The lady seemed happy with this ....
She looked at me - " Hello Dave - You are such a good boy " -
I looked back at her - " Your a nutter love - my name is Shacka - What you talkin about ?? " - well - i have not heard my real name said again - They keep saying this Dave everytime i go near them or they want me- it is all very Bizarre... Really unsure about whats going on .. My name is Shacka ..

Mmmm - I thought for a while ....................Dave  - This sounds very short ............... a little bit blunt and i'm sure Dads friend is called Dave - Yes - I liked Dave he has a hairy thing on his face - that mum calls the Beard - i wonder if this thing they are talking of while they look at me - this DAVE - i wonder if he has a beard and looks like dads friend Dave ??

Well - the Ball man pulled up outside a big house - bigger than the flat i had come from - and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i started to bounce - there was grass - in the front - and i need to pee - there was grass - leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet me at it ! The Fun Lady opened the boot and i jumped out - she just caught my lead in time - i worried her a little i think - She looked at me - Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Calm down ... she gave me a pat on my head -

BUT I NEED TO PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ... . I pulled her to the tree ' oi oi oi - calm down ' the fun lady kept saying and awwwwwwwwwwwww - now thats better - Then i licked her hand and we were friends again ............ There were so many different smells - and so many things to look at - But - The lady walked me right into the house - OMG ..........

I SHRUNK BACK AND MADE MYSELF SMALLER THAN I AM - THIS IS SCARY

Then two small people came out of a door - THEY WERE FUN - They kept hugging and calling me Mate - i like them best - bester than anything - they are going to be my bestest friends

A HUGE BLACK THING CAME TOWARDS ME - ALL FLUFFY AND WELL - IT WAS GIGANTIC - I lifted a lip n a little growl came out - but ohhhh i let myself down - i couldn't be the 'hard dog' and as i growled my bloody tongue came out and i gave this big fluffy black thing a kiss - I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO IT - IT JUST HAPPENED !! Then the Black thing growled = WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - CHILL OUT BLACK THING !! But the fun lady gave the black thing a pat - and i went running into a room where there were lots of people and ohhhhhhhhhhh i had so many new friends !!

But - they were all calling me Dave ... WEIRDOS !!


WOW - i was so tired that night - i army crawled up the bed and fell asleep, I didnt wake for ages !!
